About Jacques Chanliau
Jacques Chanliau has been a nephrologist since 1981 (from the University of Strasbourg) He obtained a diploma in medical informatics from the University of Nancy in 1983. He worked at the Nancy University Hospital and at ALTIR (Lorraine Association for the Treatment of Renal Insufficiency), a non-profit structure for renal replacement therapy, mainly for home dialysis and self-care. He became director of ALTIR in 1983. He was president of the association of French nephrologists working in non-profit union structures, vice-president of the French dialysis society, and co-founder and president of the French telemedicine society. He was co-founder of the Société Diatélic, the first use of artificial intelligence to prevent complications from peritoneal dialysis. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Peritoneal Dialysis and Home Hemodialysis Registry (RDPLF). He is the author or co-author of 37 referenced publications (peritoneal dialysis, telemedicine, epidemiology) and has participated in numerous nephrology books and chaired multiple sessions at nephrology congresses.
He was awarded the SFNDT Medal of Honor in 2019
