About Christian Verger

 

Christian Verger was head of the peritoneal dialysis (PD) department at Pontoise Hospital in France from 1979 to 2011 and then worked on a new PD program at Beauvais Hospital.

During his career, he particularly focused on peritoneal membrane alterations and functional evaluatation, and nutrition, as well as on the epidemiologic aspects of infection and survival. He founded in 1986, with Pr Jean-Philippe Ryckelynck and Mr Michel Darnaud, the Registre de Dialyse Péritonéale de Langue Française (RDPLF) (http://www.rdplf.org), of which he still is President. 

 Since 2012 he extended the activity of RDPLF to home hemodialysis. The RDPLF is now becoming a registry which includes all home dialysis modalities in French speaking countries.

Doctor Verger is retired from clinical activity, but still gives conferences and participates in different research activities. He also trains surgeons in different institutions in France when the dialysis team is facing PD catheter insertion problems. He manages the RDPLF, performs the  annual general results of home dialysis in french speaking countries and is editor in chief of the official journal of RDPLF, a bi lingual (French and English) open access journal, the Bulletin de la Dialyse à Domicile which is a medical bridge between English and French speaking  nephrologists and nurses involved in all techniques of home dialysis.

He is author or co author of more than 200 publications.

He was awarded the SFNDT Medal of Honor in 2022

Christian Verger is member of ISPD, EDTA, SFNDT and ISN.
