A propos de Ghislaine Veniez

Ghislaine Veniez is a registered nurse. She worked at the René Dubos hospital center in Pontoise (France) from 1977 to 2011, first in the nephrology department, then in hemodialysis department. From 1982 she devoted herself to the training of patients treated by peritoneal dialysis and to the drafting of treatment protocols. She has set up a home visitation and training program for patents and for independent  nurses working at home and caring for assisted patients. In partnership with the medical team she has developed the first assessment tests of the peritoneal membrane function (APEX test) in France.

She provided training sessions for hospital hospital nurses and independent  nurses working at home.

she assured surgical assistance during the surgical implantation of more than 300 peritoneal dialysis catheters. She wrote the different items of the nursing registry , in the RDPLF database  : this part of the registry makes it possible to monitor the quality of patient training and its influence on their outcome. She is the author and co-author of numerous publications in the field of peritoneal dialysis and has regularly chaired presentations at scientific meetings.

She was one of the first French nurses to present studies at international English language meetings, in particular one of the first successful pregnancies in peritoneal dialysis.

For more than 30 years she organized the bisannual meeting of the RDPLF which gathers 300 nurses and nephrologists, specialized in home dialysis and participated actively at their scientific program selection.

She is secretary of the board of directors of the RDPLF. She ensures the quality control of the data entered in the RDPLF and is responsible for the organization of the secretariat.
